How We Keep Our Floatation Pods Clean

Despite common concerns of floatation pods feeling claustrophobic, they’re actually quite spacious measuring at 2.5m long and 1.7m wide.

Within these pods are 30cm deep clean and filtered water with more than 500kgs of Epsom salts dissolved in it.

With such a heavy piece of equipment, we wanted to share our processes to keep it clean and hygienic for every client:

Between each float we aerosol the inside and outer shell of the pods, benches and shower cubicles with a hydrogen peroxide solution of 35%. Viruses are eliminated upon contact with this solution. This is left on for more than 10 minutes and dried before the next client.

The floors and handles throughout the centre are cleaned with a chlorine solution between each visit.

We treat the pods’ water with a hydrogen peroxide solution of 35%, and at a constant of 50-100 parts per million. Additionally, the salt water kills bacteria, and the pods’ microfilters and UV filters means nothing can survive.

Floaters are asked to shower before and after their session to add to our astringent cleaning regime.

We take a lot of pride in our floatation pods, and work hard to ensure they can be enjoyed by everyone safely.
